Chapter 2

Mating with Rye went well and Stella was expecting puppies. Flora had no idea how many puppies they would be getting but she was excited. Stella has been showing signs all night that the puppies would be making their arrival soon.

In this moment Flora was elated to know that Stella was in the bathroom giving birth. Aldric was in there making sure all was going well.

Stella had three puppies. All of them were females and Flora named them Rose, Daisy, and Tulip.

Flora and Aldric's intentions for the puppies were not to sell them to strangers and make money. No, they had trusted friends that wanted puppies. All their friends that were getting a puppy pitched in on all the vet cost's and were essentially getting the puppy for free.

Bernard and Eugenia picked out Daisy, the only one to look like the daddy.

Their other friend Alexandrite got Tulip and finally Dion and Trinity got Rose.

Aldric's handiness lessons were paying off. He didn't need to call the handywoman every time something went wrong. Aldric found that he rather enjoyed fixing things around the house.

Flora had some of the girls over for drinks and gossip. They also talked about setting up a beach cleanup in honor of Earth day. Flora's idea of course.

Flora took Stella out and about in the city. Since she didn't have children yet, Stella was very much her baby.

They listened to people busking around town and had lots of play time.

The city really was beautiful.

Before heading home they sat and watched the planes take off. Well, Stella slept in Flora's lap and Flora watched the planes. As she watched she thought about her honeymoon and what a wonderful time she'd had.

All that time in the city really wore Flora out. She showed and napped when she got home even though it was close to bedtime. Flora noticed that she has been getting easily exhausted lately and hoped that she wasn't coming down with something.

That night the worst thing that could have happened did happen. Stella died. Flora and Aldric had no idea why or how she passed because they found her in the morning. Although she was an elder dog now she was still considered to young to die of natural causes.

As it turned out after an examination by a vet. Stella had been suffering from an extreme calcium depletion after having her pups. It now made sense to Flora and Aldric why she had been panting so much as that is a sign. Flora was upset with herself for not taking her in to get checked out because of the panting but she really didn't even know about how serious it could be.

Flora was still beating herself up a few weeks later. Yoga just didn't seem the same without Stella there. Flora decided this was her last class for awhile. She would have one of the other girls take charge until she was ready to come back.

Jetta called and invited Flora out for dinner and drinks.

This was a welcomed distraction from her sadness and something it turned out she really needed. Jetta talked with her about needing to stop feeling guilty and learn from the experience. Help other dog owners know about what can go wrong.

By the end of the dinner and many drink later, Flora was feeling better about it. She decided that she would create an awareness website to help spread the word in honor of Stella.

Flora went home and told Aldric about her idea and he loved it. They sat and collected all the information needed for it and started putting the page together.

Before they went to sleep that night they decided to start trying to expand their family. They were not going to put pressure on themselves to make it happen over night but they were going to have fun trying.

The Flea Market was in town and it was Flora's second favorite festival. She enjoyed checking out all the unique pieces the different vendors had to offer. Flora found it hilarious that the only things this lady had to offer was and old latte.

Flora ended up finding a nice white chair that she thought would be a great addition to their bedroom. She would put it by the window for reading.

Hope you enjoyed.
Thanks for stopping by!
