Chapter 5

Pippa is very much attached to Aldric. Every morning now she wants some lovin as soon as Aldric gets up. Not that he minds as he is also attached to her. 

Shirt on and coffee brewing, Aldric is ready to start his day. Him and Flora are getting ready so they can head to Geek Con this morning. 

Here comes little Enya in her diaper and ready to go, only she doesn't know it yet but she doesn't get to go with mommy and daddy today. Enya was not happy when the babysitter showed up this morning. Enya just about busted Flora and Aldric's eardrums with all the screaming she did as she was leaving. 

While at the Con, Flora entered the Hackathon. 

She won! 

Here score wasn't very high though so she got lucky that no one better entered.

Before leaving Aldric and Flora made good use of the observatory. They need to be spontaneous to keep some spice alive after all these years together. Not as if the romance is dead, because it's not.

When they arrived home Enya was a stinky mess. 

She ran outside and grabbed on to Flora. 

Flora was not happy that the babysitter didn't take better care of Enya while they were gone. While Flora handled the dirty diaper Aldric set off inside to promptly dismiss the babysitter. He also made a call to the service and let them know what had happened and asked that the sitter be replaced with someone older and more competent.

Bernard brought little Darwin over for a play date with Enya. 

They mostly sat and watched cartoons together. 

Flora has been working on a book for the last few months. It's called Eggs Over Easy and will be a breakfast specialty cookbook. She plans on doing an entire line of cookbooks now that she has decided to take a step back from working so much. With her family expanding she wants to spend more time at home to be with the kids.

Yes, you read that last part right, I said kids. Flora and Aldric are now expecting their second child. That special use of the observatory at Geek Con was successful in getting Flora pregnant.

Now Flora needed to tell Enya. 

She decided to have her sit and do flashcards. 

"What's this one Enya?"

"Bottle"

"Yes, good and who uses a bottle?"

"Babies mama"

"Oh yes, that's good sweetie. Are you a baby?"

"No, Enya a big girl."

"That's right you are a big girl now. And soon you are going to be a big sister too. Mommy has a baby in her belly."

Enya got up squealing and started pulling on Flora's sweater so she could see the baby. She asked when the baby could come out and play. This made Flora giggle and she explained that it would be awhile before baby was ready because right now the baby was growing. Enya seemed to understand. Her mind always amazed Flora. 

It was Elite Strikers meeting night. Aldric met up with the guys at the ally and bowled a few games. Aldric shared the good news with the fellas and Perry, Aldric's friend, said that him and Jen were expecting too. 

In fact Jen was with Flora back at the house for a visit sharing the news with Flora at the same time.

Eugenia called Flora up and asked if she wanted to bring Enya to the park to play with Darwin. Of course she said yes and headed out. They sat and chatted with the kids ran off to play. 

Enya wanted to slide but she was afraid to climb up the stairs by herself. Flora went over to help her while Eugenia went to play at the dollhouse with Darwin. 

Flora and Aldric were planning on heading to the Spice Festival later in the evening so Flora asked Eugenia if she could take Enya back to her house for a bit. Eugenia, of course said yes. 

Flora and Aldric enjoyed their time together. They ate some good food, listen to music, and tried the bubble blower. After about two hours they headed to Bernard and Eugenia's place to pick up Enya. 

She had a great time playing with Darwin. This was so much better than hiring a babysitter from the service. They thanked their friends and headed home. 

A few more months have passed and the arrival of the new baby is getting closer and closer. Flora had finished her book now. It was not a bestseller but she is making a nice little profit off it weekly. She thinks that if she does do a whole line of cookbooks that she might not ever need to work in a restaurant again. Although at this point she is not sure if she wants to retire completely. 

Story time for Enya.

"A yawn is quite catching, you see. Like a cough. 

It just takes one yawn to start other yawns off."

Chapter 4

Things around the house since Enya arrived have been hectic. Who knew having a baby would put your world upside down but in the most amazing way possible. 

It wasn't often nowadays that Flora bothered to get dressed. She seemed to be covered in spit up on a regular basis. Even with the wonderful routine her and Aldric have things still get out of hand. Sometimes it's hard for Flora to sleep through Enya crying at night so they end up both being awake with her. 

Being so busy with baby these last few months it would seem things around the house are falling apart. Aldric hasn't been keeping up on the maintenance of household items and they are breaking left and right. 

Pippa has grown to be a sweet cat. 

She loves to play and explore around town. 

Flora has recently started making Pippa gourmet cat food. 

Enya's birthday is just around the corner and she will be considered a little toddler. It seems like just yesterday Flora brought her home from the hospital. Being honest though, Flora is so happy that her sleepless nights are over. 

She is now more worried about having a mobile toddler to chase after. Oh and the potty training ... she can't wait for Enya to use the potty. Having a break from all those dirty diapers will be great. For everything that Flora is worried about there is an equally great thing to look forward to. Ah, being a mom is hard sometimes. We can never get out of our own head.

Looks like little Oreo is having his birthday. Flora and Aldric are excited to see him grown up as they have no idea what kind of dog he is. 

Still unsure of his breed they at least know that he is a small breed. 

Little Enya had her birthday and has beautiful raven hair with sea blue eyes. 

She is a very inquisitive little girl. Always wanting to see more and touch everything. Aldric has already started her on flashcards and she seems to be picking up on it quickly. 

Enya's room was finished just in time for her birthday. Flora and Aldric were amazed when she went to sleep in her own bed without any fuss at all. 

With Enya already asleep and it not being too late Flora decided it would be nice to take Oreo out for a walk. It has been a long time since Flora took the time to do anything outside of the house. 

Another year gone by and things are feeling normal. Enya has done great with potty training, walking, and talking. She is a very smart little girl.

One night as they were finishing up dinner and heading inside Flora gave Aldric the look. You know that one that says, 'you will be mine tonight'. Flora was ready to start on baby #2.

While Aldric was out walking with Oreo they ran in to Stella's daughter Daisy. Aldric had the idea for them to breed but Daisy had been fixed. He thought it would have been nice to have one of Stella's grand-puppies in the family. 

Flora's friend Channel called to announce that she was expecting a baby. Flora was over the moon excited for her as she knew they had been trying for a long time now. 

She promised that they would get together soon to catch up. 

Little Enya has been a bit cranky today and needed a good nap.

When she got up Aldric gave her some lunch and practiced her ABC's. She was in no mood for learning though and ended up throwing her food on the floor. 

"Pway daddy, no wetters" 

Just as predicted Enya has Aldric wrapped around her finger and she got exactly what she wanted. Aldric took her from the highchair and played with her. 

After that she was happy and giggling. But Aldric knew that he would have to start enforcing some rules or she would be way to spoiled. He wanted her to have good manners and be respectful. The damage may already be done though and now only time would tell. 

The house is a mess and it's not all from Enya. The family seems to have gotten a bit slobby lately. 

Flora met up with Channel. They talked all about babies, giving birth, and being pregnant. Flora did share that her and Aldric were trying for another baby.

Stinky girl doesn't want a bath.

Finally bathed and changed. 

Enya is now listening to a Berenstain Bears' Nursery Tales story. She is on the verge of having a melt down because she didn't want story time. Flora didn't allow her to get her way. The time for that needed to end now so Flora made her sit there until she finished the book. Enya pouted the whole time but it was a step in the right direction.

Chapter 3

Flora and Aldric were really enjoying trying to make a baby. They didn't really need an excuse to enjoy each other but it did help set the mood more often than usual. 

One day when Aldric came home from work he had a surprise for Flora. It was a puppy named Oreo that he rescued from the shelter. His mother had died from the same complication as Stella. This made Flora and Aldric feel that Oreo was meant to be their's. 

With all this exhaustion and now nausea, Flora thought it was a good time to head to the doctor. She was sure that she was pregnant but wanted to know absolutely before she shared the news. 

The Spice festival was in town and Flora had a craving for curry. Yes, I said craving. The pregnancy test at the office had come out positive. Aldric was working and Flora didn't want to tell him over the phone so she was waiting until he came home. 

Before she headed home Flora bought some spices from the festival so she could make curry at home. If she was craving this time she didn't want to have to wait for the festival to come back to town before she could have it again. 

That night when Aldric came home from work Flora asked him to sit down before he changed. She announced rather excitedly that she was pregnant.

Aldric was so overjoyed at the news that there wasn't any words to describe how he felt. He grabbed Flora's hand and stared at her in a cloud of love and happiness. 

"I never thought I could love you more but now, knowing you have our child growing inside of you ... there, th- there are no words... I love you Flora."

A few moments later though Aldric did find his words. 

"It's time we find a home to buy, for two reasons." Aldric started counting on his fingers the reason why. "First, this place is too small to raise a family and second, we really need a yard. Not only for Oreo but for our child to play in."  

"But, I love this place. This is where we bui--"

"I know you love our apartment and I do too but it's time to move on."

Flora knew that Aldric was right about needing to move. She was just so used to their life the way it was but once the baby came their whole world was going to change. 

They found a home rather easily that they both loved. It was big enough for them to raise ten children in. although Flora had no intention of raising that many kids. It was perfect. 

The house had a large kitchen with formal dinning. The master bedroom was almost as big as their apartment with a private bath. There were five bedrooms, a sauna, and an office. 

The backyard had a pool and basketball court with plenty of room for expansion. 

The house was overkill for the two of them but it would be perfect once it was filled with the sounds of tiny feet running about. 

Flora's morning sickness has been out of control. She was still in her first trimester so they haven't shared the wonderful news with their friends yet.

Flora had sent out invitations to a house warming dinner and today she got all the RSVP's in the mail.

Today was dinner party day. Flora spent some time in the sauna relaxing but now it was time to start cooking. She loved her new kitchen. It was so much bigger than the one in their apartment. 

The size of the house as a whole still amazed her.

Flora made garlic rosemary rack of lamb with some zesty spring greens. 

Everyone loved the dinner. 

Little Oreo followed Flora everywhere she went. Even to the bathroom to watch over her as she vomited. 

The second trimester was just around the corner and Flora couldn't wait for this nausea to pass.

As Aldric was feeling the baby kick he loving looked at Flora and said, "Your belly is blooming." 

This made Flora giggle. "What a silly thing to say Honey."

Since Flora suffered from such terrible morning sickness she had decided to take a leave of absence form work.

This gave her time to really focus on getting the house in order before the baby came. With all this extra time it really didn't take her long at all.

She was in full swing of her second trimester. The nausea was gone and she felt amazing. It was time to share the happy news with her friends.

When the girls came over later that day she noticed that Eugenia was looking pudgy in the belly region too.

"Oh my goodness Eugenia! Tell me, are you having a baby too?" 

Eugenia shrugged feeling a little embarrassed and stated the she was towards the end of her second trimester. Her and Bernard didn't want to tell anyone too soon because there is always a chance that she could lose the baby. Flora knew that fear and understood. 

Pregnant Besties

Aldric came home once again with a surprise for Flora. This time he rescued a kitten and her name was Pippa. She technically was almost considered an adult but she still looked like a kitten.

Aldric had always wanted a cat but the apartment felt too small for more then one animal and he didn't think that would have been fair to any of them. Now that they lived in this giant house he felt it was a good time to get one.

Third trimester

The day of delivery was fast approaching for Flora. She just hoped that she didn't go past her due date because the third trimester has gotten to be a little uncomfortable. Her back ached all the time now no matter how many massages Aldric gave her. Being in the water did seem to help though so she found herself swimming in the pool often. 

A week later Flora got a call from Eugenia telling she had the baby. When they came home from the hospital Flora was there bearing gifts. 

Flora went in to the room to meet the baby. They had a little boy that they named Darwin. Flora got to feed and change the baby. Good practice for when her bundle of joy comes.  

Aldric was checking Stella's awareness page and saw that someone had made a $500 donation. As promised on the page all donations would be matched by the Dagda family so in turn he made his own $500 donation to the cause.

While cooking dinner that night Flora suddenly felt a deep back pain and tension in her belly. It came on slow and then progressed in to pain she couldn't tolerate much. 

It was time for baby to come!

The delivery went smooth with no complications. Flora and baby were back home and settling in. They had a baby girl and named her Enya.

Eugenia came by to see Enya and Flora. The besties had their baby just days apart and a boy and girl to boot. It couldn't have gone more perfect. Their children were going to grow up together and of course they had visions of them one day becoming family. 

Little Oreo was not fully trained yet and he was barking in the room a little to close to Enya. Pippa came in and hissed at Oreo to get him away from the baby.

Aldric was a proud daddy. He has taken some family leave from work to spend time with Enya and help Flora through these first few weeks of adjustment. It wouldn't do anyone any good if Flora was exhausted from sleepless nights. Aldric handled all the late night feedings and dirty diapers while Flora took care of them during the day. It was the perfect system for them all. 

This little girl was going to wrap everyone around her little finger.
